Your choice for a Sub 30k car?

There's GOT to be some fellow car buffs on here, so I thought i'd ask..

I'm in the market for a new car, test drove a new Focus ST and was blown away. Unbelievable front wheel drive mechanics. But I got to thinking, what other options would be available for $30k? New, Used, doesn't matter.

Right now, i'm thinking (in no particular order):

Golf GTI
Mazdaspeed 3
Focus ST
Subaru BRZ
Subaru WRX
Audi A3/A4
BMW 135i


The BMW's, Audi's, and VW's are the more mature vehicles, wouldn't be embarrassed at all giving my boss a ride.

The hot hatches seem to be more in-line with the whole "have fun, but haul gear too" kind of attitude, but look like boy-racer's.

Then there's the BRZ, which is the "screw space and practicality, lets whip out the back end"


If you had a max budget of under 30k, what would you be looking for?

No station wagons.
No pickup trucks.

Got a Golf GTi Edition 30 and its been remapped. Its a hell of alot of fun! and can be used to ferry my daughter and her mother around

I would buy a barely used vehicles private party. You will be surprised what you will find. People buy car and forced to sell it asap because unfortunate things happened.

Hyundai Genesis.

Where do you live?

As a wrx owner I would go with that because AWD is the best. But it is a bit of a youngsters car.

Go with the 1 series, mature but super fun.

Well that too. It's been a while but I did drive a Toyota for a little bit when I was a kid, not a bad truck at all, just kinda small. I used to be a Chevy guy, but since I got my Jeep a couple of years ago, I'm loving it. I will admit to really liking the Ford Raptor, they look sweet.

yeah they look sweet, but I cannot imagine myself paying that much for a truck.
