Thank you, nope we were just messing around during photoshooting what i would call a photo comics (he needed the respirator for a role).

IMO, the emptiness of the two sides allows some drama to drain away.

And a bit of noise removal and sharpening wouldn't hurt, I think.

I liked the original but you're right Lew - drama is increased hugely by your crop. The right crop can make a big improvement so long as you have a good image to start with.
