I see you were using a fill flash on that one... I am assuming it was the onboard camera flash...

Bigger, hotshoe flashes are your friend.

Actually I wasn't, I just increased the fill light in PS (didn't seem dark/shady [at least shady enough] for the flash)... but in AZ in 109* heat... I guess I wasn't thinking

I Opened up shadows a little bit more in Nikon Capture NX2...

Nice capture on the original pic however!
