1st wedding - Need help

Hi again Officersdr,
I totally understand and your sister is lucky to have you under the circumstances. I didn't know the other stuff about money, and just didn't want you to get into a situation you might potentially feel bad for later, as I did with my first solo wedding. I hope that makes sense.
I totally agree with Tony though. Take a bazillion photos. I take an embarrassing amount during weddings. Some work, and others do not. Fire away. Yes, it's a lot to deal with after the fact, but I like the "odds" of shooting a lot.
Please share with us after you are done, and good luck! Please feel to write if you need any help at all.
Best Wishes,
Cindy

I've shot backup at several weddings, and it's definitely important to the couple no matter what they say. I wouldn't do it with a point and shoot, personally.

At my own wedding we set disposable cameras on the tables; we gave out 8 with 36 shots each, and got two decent shots. But it was worth it because, as mentioned, you can't recreate the event!
