It's nice, but showing at least the whole chest would make it much better. Chopping the tail off kinda can be OK for a tight crop, but would probably help, too. Or maybe reduce it for a portrait. Still a gorgeous bird, though

I see what you're saying. Below is an adjusted pic. I think it is a matter of personal preference. I've never been one to follow traditional cropping rules. I still like the original better. It is kinda like chopping the top of a person's head off on a portrait to keep the viewer from looking past the subject and brings out the eyes. I may have to try this one several different ways til it just looks right. Thanks for the critique.

I could have stated it better in that it is a beutiful bird and a nice shot, I just "felt robbed" in not seeing it all. I didn't mean you have to follow any cropping rules, and yes it is personal preference. I, too, crop more for my liking than any rule. I do like the second shot better
