    A helpful suggestion:

For anyone new to photography, if you are looking for an answer to what you feel may be a basic photographic question, before asking the question on this forum, could you please try the following first:

    1. Go to www.google.com or www.yahoo.com and type the keywords of your question into the search box. For example, if you want to know more about HDR (High Dynamic Range) photography, type "HDR" and "photography" into the search box.

    2. Look up the subject on wikipedia. Go to www.wikipedia.org, and type in the subject you want to know more about. For example, if you want to know what chromatic aberration is, go to www.wikipedia.org and type in "chromatic aberration". Be aware that correct spelling seems to be necessary to get results from wikipedia.

These two steps will make it easier for others on this forum to answer your questions, and for you to understand the answers.

    :) Have fun!

Good advice! Folks, there is a learning curve and part of that curve is in finding out for yourself. Another part of that curve is in knowing that just because someone tells you something, that doesn't make it correct. Get several opinions and then TEST them.

Here are a few sites that might help you:

http://www.cameraontheroad.com/index.php -This site is packed with info!

http://www.radiantvista.com/video_tutorials/ -very helpful and has vidio tutorials

    http://www.vividlight.com/

    http://www.rangefindermag.com/index2.tml

http://jzportraits.home.att.net/ -all you need to know about posing. also studio lighting and facial analysis.

http://www.strobist.blogspot.com/ -check out the lighting 101

http://kenrockwell.com/ -if you shoot Nikon, some don't like him but as I said- TEST!

http://library.thinkquest.org/25473/wlc_full_01.html -an interesting bit for beginners.

http://www.planetneil.com/faq/index.html -a private site but quite helpful for dragging the shutter

    http://www.photozone.de/4Technique/index.html -another.

    10 should be a good start! ;)

    Good luck!

my mom works at the university i go to. The other day she actually wanted me to come down there to her office to show her how to cut and paste in a computer. Self help is sometimes the best kind, because you dont have to rely on others to teach you.
