Another Nikon D70 vs. Canon EOS300 Question

Hi All!

I've read a lot of comparisons between the Nikon D70 and the Canon Digital Rebel and it's still tough for me to decide between the 2.

So I'm asking for your opinion on these 2 scenarios:

Would you rather get the Nikon D70 w/ the standard kit Lens or get the Canon Digital Rebel, hack it so it has the 10D functionalities, and then spend around $300 (the price diff. between the Nikon and the Canon) to get a better lens?

Any thoughts on this would be much appreciated! Thanks!

Even with the hacked firmware, the D70 has more features. I think the choice should be more on the system you want. Digital sensors in 2 years will be much better so your investment of lenses will matter the most.

Things that the D70 would give you over a hacked 300D...

1/500th shutter synch with flash
custom curves
better metering (same color matrix meter from the F5)

I'm sure there are others.
