Aviation photography - post-processing troubles

It's best to leave a bit of empty space in front of the aircraft to visually give it 'someplace to fly to'. This isn't a post issue, it goes back to the image capture. Don't try to frame things perfectly in-camera, shoot a bit wide and give yourself the ability to crop in post.
l couldn't agree more about room in the front giving it somewhere to fly to. I do a bunch of pointing dog photo's and don't do any 8x10, 5x7 ect anymore. They don't generally leave any room in front of the dog where we know the bird is. My dog photo'd are now mostly 8x16 ect. Must admit I found some 11x17 paper I have burred away and did my Abby on a sheet and it did leave room in front of her. Of course the room can be eliminated with sizing in post op. Framing the photo is important to me.

This is my Snicker. Notice the bit extra room in front of him. Also if I get a moving shot I leave room in front also as it gives the dog somewhere to go.
