Interesting perspective. But I don't understand what's going on.
Men are pounding something in a large mortar. Steam is rising.
There must be an interesting background behind this shot.
There is an interesting background: glowing steam that plays counterpoint to the mass and texture of the mallets.

I would be proud of that shot.
 
well, there's a whole series of these, originated in colour, but this seemed to work well in b/w. The occasion is a Mochitsuki, public festival for the express purpose of making mochi - a rice-based paste that has the consistency and taste of the inside of a golf ball.......not my cup of tea you understand :)
