I would like to start taking wedding, glamour, portraits, model portfolios, etc. as a part-time business. I have a full time career and would like to do this 20-25 hours a week. I have room for a small studio in my house and I live in Florida, so plenty of outdoor locations. Anyway, I would love any pointers. Are there any good online courses, or books for beginners? What recommendations would you make for studio lighting? Any help would be appreciated!

http://www.nyip.com/ - they have a great reputation.

Personally, I'd stick the studio in the Garage unless you have one of those monster rooms in your house.

Thing is, you're being real general. 20 to 25 hours a week is really hard to keep a schedule that tight. You have to be available to your customers and their needs.

First thing to do is to put together a portfolio showing off your work of each type of photography you specialize in. Doing a google search on photogapher's web sites is a good way to get lots of ideas.
