I'm also a beginner but have tried them all,

I prefer the 5500 over the others for the extra AF points, Articulating screen and WiFi.
However, if you go the 3300 way like I did and search for deals, you may find yourself being able to buy the Camera with Kit, and the coveted 35mm prime f/1.8g lens, for below the price of the d5500.

If you have the extra cash and find an okay deal, I'd go D5500 way.
Otherwise, let yourself be a beginner and learn photography on a less expensive D3300 with the 35mm prime to boot.

Good luck.

Well of the ones you list - the D5500. Thats the one with best autofocus system - important for sports. But really a D7100 if you can find a good offer on the used market, plus an AF-S 18-105mm f3.3-5.6 VR for the start.

Later an AF-S 70-200mm f4-5.6 VR for sports. Thats the cheapest Nikon lens with a good autofocus motor, and its really cheap on the used market.
