    Hey all,

I think I'm gonna go shopping for a new book tomorrow.
I certainly do not need any more technical books (they're piling up and so is the dust).
Rather, I'm looking for something that's more inspiring. Black and White would be nice, or landscapes, anything really.
Do any of you have favorite photographers who's imagines just make you wanna be better?
    That's what I need.

    Thanx in advance

A couple of suggestions of books I like or I'd like to buy:

Black and White: any book by Michael Kenna (BUT expensive and hard to find).
Landscape: a book by Joe Cornish (British landscape photographer):
    • [ame="http://www.amazon.com/First-Light-Joe-Cornish/dp/1902538242/sr=8-2/qid=1171627318/ref=pd_bbs_sr_2/103-3936527-3451833?ie=UTF8&s=books"]First light[/ame]
    • [ame="http://www.amazon.com/Scotlands-Coast-Photographers-Joe-Cornish/dp/1845130790/sr=8-4/qid=1171627318/ref=pd_bbs_4/103-3936527-3451833?ie=UTF8&s=books"]Scotland's Coast[/ame]
The last 2 might not be of interest to you as they contain mainly British landscapes, but I find Joe Cornish's compositions inspiring.

The heaviest book I own is called [ame="http://www.amazon.ca/Earth-Above-Yann-Arthus-Bertrand/dp/0810934957/sr=1-1/qid=1171638260/ref=sr_1_1/702-9144403-5192836?ie=UTF8&s=books"]'Earth from Above'[/ame].
It is full of amazing photographs and plenty of environmental tidbits.

I don't know if it's the type of book to inspire you photographically...unless you have access to a hot air balloon, a helicopter or a small plane...but it's a great book.

I agree with Mike. This a great and impressive book, with very unusual pictures. Have a look at Yann Arthus Bertrand's website to have an overview of his work.
