can i get a slave for this camera?

    can i get a slave for this camera or are they only available to more advanced cameras like SLR's and stuff?

    its an olympus sp-310.
    if so, how much would it probably cost and where could i get one?

    You do know slavery is illegal now, right? :mrgreen: OK that was terrible. :meh:

    I imagine you could buy a basic flash, and then also buy a remote trigger with hot shoe and sensor which would trigger the flash when the camera's built-flash fires. They are made by Wein among other companies. How well this would work with this camera however I don't know, but I don't know any other way that the camera could trigger a flash.

    Well I thought it could work in theory. Even SLR systems have used pop-up flash to trigger dedicated flashes. I figured you could apply the same using one of those remote triggers and a flash. There are of course complications, for example the on-camera flash may have a pre-fire which could mess everything up.
