    Hi folks,

I've just purchased a used D30 and I am enjoying my new found digital freedom. So far, my only problem is that my Sunpak flash that I use on my Elan is not compatible with the D30. It turns out that the Canon D30 is only compatible with the "EX" line of flashes while the Elan is compatible with both EX and EZ lines. Flash photography is not my forte but I still would like a flash that is compatible with both canon bodies and not break my wallet.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks...

Just an update to what I have found so far....

Looks like there's not much out there.... Not too many flash manufacturers are producing canon "EX" compatible flashes. So far, I am looking 3 flashes:

    - canon 220EX
    - canon 420EX
    - and Sigma EF300 DG Standard.

The canons cost a bit more than the Sigma but there's not much info on the Sigma out there. I've had good performance with my Sunpak but the PZ5000af is the closest to the EX line they've got and I've read some incompatibility problems.

    search continues.....
