Well, I did pick up a G10 last weekend and shot it at a bar that night. I must say it is a relief to use in those tight quarters over my 40D. Quality wise, it is on par with what I can produce with my 40D in similar situations. The DOF is not as shallow. Maybe a tad grainier at ISO 400 100% crop, but than we are comparing a CMOS to CCD sensor. Macro on the G10 is very impressive. I was waiting on a compact P&S that can attain excellent image quality. Held out on the G9, Leica and Panasonics LX3; but am more than satisfied with the G10. Wish Canon would have given more ISO presets though.
