Does Canon have a "no-battery-needed" SLR currently in the market?
I don't think there is a such a beast manufactured after 1980. There are cameras such as the Pentax K1000 or Spotmatic which only need the battery for the lightmeter. The Nikon F3 will run without a battery, but only at certain shutter speeds. Maybe the Canon TX can run without a battery.
The old Canon Ftb only required a battery for the light meter.
