Cycad Blue

This small butterfly, the Cycad Blue, is considered a pest to gardeners. It lays its eggs on valuable Cycad Palms and the caterpillars will eventually caused damages to this beautiful ornamental tree. For this shot, I had to go down to ground level. Did this with the help of a angle finder.

Canon D30 with 75-300mm USM III + 36mm extension tube
Settings at 1/200, f8, ISO 100 with fill flash from omnibounced Canon 420 EX set at -2/3 FEC

actually i'll have to disagree with Ray about the contrasting colors... I rather love the way the background matches the butterfly's wings, it gives some kind of dominant color to the pic. Love it!
 
Thanks for the comments. I feel the overall brown tone gave this shot a very special feeling.
