Here is how I use my stuff. I have a D7000 and a 105 micro Nikkor. I get as close as I can to bugs and other small things, capture whatever, and then crop it down to the best composition. I usually set exposure to manual, choosing the best aperture and shutter speed for what I'm doing and set the ISO to auto. This setup works well until the light gets low and then things get pretty noisy. What I would like a new body to do for me is give me better HIGH ISO performance. I realize that with a D810 and 105mm I would have to crop a lot more to get the same composition as I'm getting with my D7000 and I would end up with roughly the same pixel density. My question is, will I still see the 1.3 stops improvement in high ISO performance?
