Hey guys, I just got my Canon T2i DSLR today and have been messing around with it for a bit. I've read much of the manual and want to try out a few shots, but every time I take a photo and try to review it on the screen, it's just black. All the lens caps are off. Is there another reason? Sorry for the noobiness. Also, when I review the pictures on my computer, they are all black.

Okay, the ISO was on 100 and I was inside. After increasing it to 1600 the screen became visible. Is that really how high I need it just to take shots inside?

Keep reading, I am not sure what mode your in, but you sound like your trying to run before you walk. I know its exciting to open the box and start shooting, but keep reading about what the modes do, AV, TV, Man. Your Shutter speed, Aperture, and ISO all go into your exposure. Read up a bit and then you'll undertsand why it looks like that. My guess is that you are at ISO 1600 because your shutter speed it too high for your lighting condition.
