Delicious.

That looks hellish good Ron - e-mail me a couple of slices, wouldja?

I tried but the file was too big. :1251:

Perhaps if you slice the mushrooms thinner?

My kids veto mushrooms in our meals so we rarely have them in the house. Similar delicacies do go down remarkably well though - even with lesser cheeses :)

I knew 11pm wasn't a good time to open this thread - I feel in need of a welsh rarebit now!

Now I've got to get some 'shrooms. 350F (~175C) for about 10 minutes?

I made toast, then arranged the 1/4" slices of mushrooms on it followed by slices of New York extra sharp cheddar. This I put under the grill of the toaster oven until it was bubbly - I did not time it.

Looks good, would be better with bacon though :1247:

'shrooms an cheese are one of the comfort foods here. But I usually sauté the mushrooms (preferably the coffee or brown kind) with some garlic, before putting them on the toast. The cheese would be sharp cheddar with a sprinking of romano or parmesan. As Ron does, they go under the grill and taken out when the cheese starts bubbling. They never seem to last long enough for the camera to come out.
