So I'm pretty new to photography, and was wondering what types of equipment everyone reccomends to take with them when they go out to take pictures. Such as a tripod, camera and lens cleaning products, stuff like that. All I have is my camera and a tripod with my canon backpack that I truly love.

I have been using the same lens you have posted in your bio.
I have been shooting it 80% of the shots I take. I also have a 70-300mmIS USM lens, it is fun, but I find that most shots I take are with the 18-55.

Practice some more with this lens until you feel really good with it and the camera. Read, here, the web, and books. Write notes about the different stuff that interests you as you read. Take that notebook in the field and practice those interests. Take notes of what you did and then when you are home looking on the computer, try to figure out what interests you and what you actually did out there.

Good luck, keep us posted and show us some of your work.
I generally carry what you posted. Pack, tripod, camera, lens, camera manual, and other sundry items.
Your most important tool will be your eyes!

P.S. I use my tripod a lot. I do not drink enough to keep the shakes down ;)
