The room I sleep in. Yes its the top bunk and its over 7 feet tall.

There is a steel ledge at the bottom and if you roll out of bed its waiting there for you!!

There are hand holds in the ceiling to assist you getting out of bed

The view from my bed. Its a long way down when you just woke up!! But the knowledge that it will cost you big time makes for a carefull exit.

A shipmate happened by as I shot the picture of the handholds in the ceiling. I was lying on my back to get the shot. He kind off freaked out cause he thought I fell from bed. Just another part of shipboard life.

You work on a ship? Cool. What type, how long are you at sea? I had a cabin bed when I was younger but it wasn't that high ;)

The ship is an ATB type , 447 feet long , Most of the time its a two week hitch. Last month was a 3 week hitch. We sail the east coast of USA . Mostly around the New York area.
