Give Me Your Photography 101 Assignments!

So, I have a camera now, but I am unable to audit the intro to photography class where I work (time conflict). I wanted to take it not only for the technical material, but to get interesting, creative assignments. I like challenges.

But since I can't take the course, what do I do now? I found this site which has a few assignments at the bottom. Does anyone else have a good beginner's assignment?

All suggestions welcome! The more, the merrier~

I would say start out making images in different catagories one at a time. Read up on portraiture and try doing some portraits, move on to landscapes, still life, macro, day time, night time, etc. before you know it you have a well rounded skill level and knowledge of how to approach just about anything. With the internet all of the resources are your oyster.

Try plants, and fruit...things you can take your time on for you first assignment

We have weekly assignments here on the forum Also try entering the monthly contest as sort of an assignment as well.
