Photo'ing 'things' is a funny way to spend the time waiting on customers.....
While waiting yesterday morning, decided to get some of the chunks of Southern Red Oak milled into useable 'slabs', but the sun had quite come around enough(you'll see some light and dark 'spots' below). And living 'in town', I try to be respectful of neighbors(especially when we are related to them)...so I had to be sort of quiet.
Shot this ARW, and ran it through PhotoMatix Essentials and B&W Artistic was chosen. Back to Picsas3 and cropped.....that's it.
By the way, this ordinary 'chunk'.....it will become pens, wine bottle stoppers, game calls, instead of being burned or buried.
The figure and grain structure is amazing!!!
