half a flag

my neighbors flag, torn in half by the wind. any way i could improve it, besides the fact i cut off the top?

interesting idea...

first of all, take off the sepia toning; some nice saturated sky and flag colors would look good and bring out more detail. Second, those wires are very distracting. Although it was probably unavoidable in this instance, try to avoid such compositional distractions in the future

I take the three wires as a very interesting addition to the composition and one which is not distracting in the least. A torn-in-half flag smack-dab in the middle of a frame that would have had nothing else would not have interested me at all. Like this, however, there is something there ... some more, something that makes me look.

But then I see the sepia toning and I no longer like what I see ... leave the natural colours, would be my suggestion.
