Can others edit my Photos
Photos OK to edit
Hello everyone, my name is Bobby, I enjoy photography especially wildflowers, insects, reptiles, amphibians, etc. However, I must confess that I really don't understand any of this camera lingo. I just kind of point and shoot until I get something I like! lol However, I really want to learn so I can hopefully nurture my budding photography skills. Right now all of my pictures are taken with a Casio EX-Z60 so I pretty much have to get "up close and personal" with my subjects. This camera belongs to my dad and I want to make an upgrade to a camera better suited for my needs. At this moment I am attending high school and working part time at a grocery store so that should give you an idea of my budget! I really appreciate any help/advice. The following links are a few examples of my work thus far. Thanks!

BTW please feel free to browse through my pathetic flickr gallery and leave comments.

First of all welcome to the forum... :)

About the photos, well, there are quite beautiful, i really enjoyed some of them :)

Good luck with raising the money to buy yourself a camera... i know how its like :p

Thanks for the welcome and thanks for the comment! Always nice to hear that someone appreciates your photos. hahaha yes its kind of hard right now...and I realize that getting a camera might not become a reality until much later...just getting an idea of what to look for.

Welcome to ThePhotoForum, Carolinensis!

And don't fret over your camera as yet. From what I could see, the one you have produces good, in-focus photos, and you DO get up close and personal with your subjects, and I like it. Lighting is ok, focus and depth of field (DOF) are, too, now I wonder if that is your camera's doing (automatically) or your own, never mind: so far you get a pleasing result, it seems like you have "the eye".

Which doesn't say: stay with AUTO for all times from now on, but it feels like you are already at the point where you want to step away from it gradually and go beyond composing a photo nicely. Now you also want some more control. Right?

Thanks again for the welcome and the comments! As much as I would like to take credit for the photos...I think it is mostly the camera and a combination of luck. What I mean to say is usually I'm not able to duplicate pleasing results back to back. It just sort of happens. I'm sure it would really help to familiarize myself better with the camera but im really not sure where to start...i have no idea where the camera manual is!
