Hola from Puerto Rico

Hi all. I have always loved photography and I've owned a few Point&Shoot cameras(actually the Canon SD750). Recently i bought my first SLR(Nikon D60 18-55mm kit). I'm very exited with my new camera and I've been reading some books to learn some techniques on photography. I hope sometime i learn how to shoot great pics as I've seen some friends of mine shoot here in the island. Any tips on how to start in this world will be appreciated.
