How to take a picture like this?

I came across this picture on the internet and was wondering if anyone knows how to take digital pictures like this? I don't know exactly what makes it different, maybe the color or composition? Thanks!!

You are asking about "the jealous girlfriends dinner"?
The only think that I see that is somewhat different about that photo...is that it was taken with a wide angle, which gives it some distortion.

How one earth can we tell you how to take a picture like "what ever it is that you like about it" if you don't know what it is about it that you like?

Just looks like your lower end run of the mill wide angle'ish shot to me.

I see nothing really special with the photo from a technical standpoint.

From an artistic standpoint it does tell a story.. as suggested by the title. Perhaps its a story that strikes you because of some personal experience. Either case, story behind the photo has more to do with the people and expressions rather than composition and lighting.
