I broke down and bought a zoom lens for my dx. I ordered a 17-55 f/2.8 today and should have it in hand tomorrow morning. I've bought nothing but off brands other than the Nikkor 70-200, so I am a bit excited. I tried the going to prime thing, and I changed my mind really quick on that.

Congrats! I use to own that lens, it was great optically. Just too heavy for my liking. Have fun with it, it's practically indestructible, lol.

Wow wow wow. Unberivable! I just escorted my new lens home today, and I can't say how much I love this thing. It's super sharp, super fast and quiet. The only thing that disappoints me is that it isn't as heavy as many reviewers make it out to be. I think it's still a bit on the light side, and it's not as big as many may make it seem. Oh well. It's a keeper. From Sigma to Tamron, I saw that KEH had a 10% off coupon, so I jumped on it (shout out to them as well, as their customer service is exceptional!). Here's a shot I just took with it with my seem to be happy dog, Pickles. Please excuse that piss water in the background some people call beer. A friend left it last weekend, and I had been hoping that it would have decomposed already.
