Whoa boy. Is that a spider disguised as a bee?

LOL it's an orb weaver spider according to a book I looked it up in, we call them writing spiders here because of the funky white pattern in the center of the web, as you can see from the same type of spider in my avatar. I went out this morning to photograph after taking a week off due to illness, and found these spiders ALL over the place...some were there last week but much smaller. OnceI walked up to take a pic of one on its web and I bumped into two other webs, backed away before I damaged them but sent them scurrying up their respective webs.

And regarding the bee thing, a couple of weeks ago I did manage to capture a battle between one of these spiders and a large orange bee. The bee won.
