Is Gitzo a good brand?

Looking for a tripod and I'm curious about these folks...

I have a very cheap tripod that so far has been good to me. Bought @ eBay for $25. Not as good as the Bogen ones, but for the money I doubt I could get anything much better.

I have on several occasions waxed lyrical about Gitzos. There are one or two as good but, in my opinion, none better. A lot of pros choose them - but they are not cheap (or light)
