Not sure what Nikon was thinking when they made this? I'd rather grab an 85mm 1.4g for this price.

Well, Nikon didn’t have a “pro” 50ish lens with the cute gold N logo, and now they do. Now people won’t have to feel inadequate by having a under $1k “consumer” 50 1.4G hanging on their pro body.

Lol it's ridiculous IMHO, that almost a 70-200mm lens

I'm sure it will be one of the best 50's out there - just look at the sample images (sharp with good bokeh!) - but it's definitely not worth what Nikon is asking for.
