While I would love to say that I was on an African photo-safari, alone, with only my camera and my wits - the reality is that I was at the Pittsburgh Zoo for my 2 year old daughter's birthday.

Zoom lens for the win.

Jeremy, these are very good for zoo shots. I know, from personal experience, just how hard it is to get good zoo pictures that do not look like they were shot in a zoo. My only comment would be to watch the crop a bit, the third and fourth ones are just a bit too tight IMHO, but maybe that was required to limit the "zoo" in the picture. I would also suggest that you number your images when you post them as this makes it a lot easier for a reviewer to comment on a specific one and be sure that the right image is being mentioned.

I do hope the birthday party was a success.
