Ya I have to agree here. Too much of the flower is out of focus, so there is very little for the eye to be drawn to.

Remeber that DOF is used to bring the eye to a specific thing, or part of a thing.

If mostly everything is out of focus then nothing stands out.

I do in fact try to have 98% of the picture out of focus....lol
Bokeh is just too much fun!!

such shallow DOF, It is wonderful, and that little strand of the petal is pin sharp, great technique, beautiful image.

the curves make this image, without the curves i dont think it would be as nice

For some aspects of photography I am still a noob, but in other ways I know some stuff.
