Needing a new lens for portrait photography, I have a 50mm 1.8, 18-55mm, 55-250mm, any others I should purchase, decent prices or anyone looking to swap for a 55-250mm for a decent prime.
The next size up in primes would be the 85 1.8. A great lens. But what do you feel your missing in your current setup. What do you wish you could do and can't?
The 80-90mm range on full frame tends to be the go to for portraiture. On your crop sensor that means your 50 which rounds out at an equivalent 80mm. So now you have to figure out what that lens isn't doing. If you need wider you'll want to look at the 35 f 2. If you need longer the 85. Both tend to go for right around $300-400. I don't think anyone would be interested in a trade as the 55-250 is a kit lens and brand new is only worth $200
