I think this really shows how versatile the 200-400 VR can be with its close focus ability. This frog was about the length of an AA battery yet I was able to get pretty close to him. This has had about %10-15 cropped from the frame, I liked the full frame as I love the colours and textures of his surroundings but went with this crop for the web to show a bit more detail. This was at 400mm, 1/60th second on a monopod.
I think the close focus ability of this lens is very important because it opens up a whole new area of photographic opportunity that long range primes don't always offer.
Everytime all the elements come together for a shot I fall in love with this lens all over again!
