I have been here for a few days now, I guess I will post this one:

It was the only flower on this tree, and it was only there for 2 days. I was just messing around with my camera when I first got it, and I got this picture.

I like the textures and detail. Do you know if it was a magnolia tree?

Thanks! What I liked about it was the contrast of the brown and green. It looks very apparent on my desktop at 1440x900! :)

I have no clue what kind of tree it is. I can take a picture of it tomorrow if you really want to know. ;)

Thanks! I was looking at this tree again today to see if there were any more flowers on it, but alas there were not..

I can't believe how much the moniter makes a difference, here at work it looks like total crap, but looks great on my Mac at home!

Ah ok. Is it usual for the tree to flower one at a time like that?

No, I think they usually bloom many at a time. They smell divine when in bloom. Glad you got a shot before all the buds were gone.

Great shot and don't they smell beautiful aswell
Magnolia Grandiflora. In England the buds open gradually over a month or so, so there are usually only a few open at once.

Maybe that is what it is. I noticed some buds on there, that seemed to be taking for ever to open up! :)

I wouldn't have known what tree or flower it was, but I do like the shot.
