Looking For Some C&C Please

Havent posted many pictures here just got a new camera Rebel EOS XSi 450D went out to a pond to get some pictures of some ducks and would like to know what I could do to make my pictures better thanx

Nice beginning shots. Read up on the rule of thirds for composition. Basically instead of putting you subject in the center of the image you would place it on an intersection point of a tic tac toe board that you visualize in your viewfinder. The first image would have been really nice if you would have had the whole gooses body in the shot. The others are more snapshotish but the exposure looks pretty good as do the colors.

the second picture, in my opinion, is captivating. the color and contrast of it all is just captured so beautifully. but yes, i agree with the other reply, it does seem quite snapshotty, but...that is what they are snap shots!
you did just randomly go to the pond to test out your camera, which is a beauty by the way.
