Low Shutter Speed & Grainy Pics With Sony A7IV and Godox V1?

I’ve 2 Godox, V860 and a ring flash. Both work flawlessly on my Nikon. But I do shoot manual when using a flash.

But it also defeats the main purpose: TTL metering. Without that, it's basically an auto-strobe from the 1970s.

Maybe the Sony/Godox is different than what I'm used to - I simply set my Metz (40 MZ-3 or 60 CT-4) to TTL, and the camera (Nikon F4 or F5) quenches the flash automatically. There is no TTL mode on the camera.
