Mamiya to sell camera business and it's US Distributor merging with an ad agency - link.
When you sell a camera, even a Med. Format for over $15,000 USD, what do you expect in return.
The industry is changing consistently now, and will not stop. Selling those cameras at a price out of reach for even those who are pros is what will lead to one's demise.
Minolta found this out, Bronica found this out, now Mamiya has too.
At least Hasselblad is selling the H Series under $7,000 and that is within the reach of many more than $15,000. When Sony goes pro in a few months, the question is will they learn this lesson too, or will they fall like the other three?
that's a shame, mamiya is (was) a great company.
