Missed focus but it looked correct in view finder - with photo example

Good advise everyone.

I will keep that in mind for my next shoot and post a sharp photo if I see this guy again.
 
I shot the Tokina 100mm Macro/Telephoto AF 2.8 for two years. For closeups, it was essential to shoot manual focus, thus the need to calibrate the diopter to its finest focus point. Additionally, if shooting extreme closeups, I found a ring flash an essential tool which allowed me to increase the depth of field a tad and still capture a sharp image. Tripod is a must without the ring flash but even with, I almost always used a tripod or monopod for greater stability.
