Movie Review: War Horse

I was really looking forward to this one. It isn't bad, but it isn't good - it's just... "who cares?". I guess if you really love horses you'll like the movie, but I couldn't bring myself to give a stone about either the horse or the whiny kid, or anyone - despite the soundtrack designed to tell us when we're supposed to be emotional.

Spielberg pulls out every trick in his bag to make the film sappy, but it just comes across as desperate. It just seems to me like a bad, boring war movie.

oh, and it's corny as hell. If you don't find yourself rolling your eyes at least once every half hour, it's because you've fallen asleep.

It could have been condensed into a shorter movie.

And coming from Horse People, this movie is very unrealistic. He should have died in the barb wire. Most horses freak out and end up killing themselves.

but it is... just a movie.
