Keep my 18 - 200mm VR II + Buy a new 70 - 200mm VRII Nikon lens / Sell my 18 - 200mm VRII ( in exchange for a new lens ) + buy 70 - 200mm VR2

I've read a couple of review for the Nikon 70 - 200mm VRII lens and I've heard a lot of good things from it . I'm not a professional photographer , still an enthusiast photographer ( semi - professional [ does that counts ? lol ] ) , I like shooting both indoors and outdoors , I own a Nikon D300s .

Anyone can give me suggestion ? :D I'd really appreciate it .

Go and buy either Nikon 70-200 or Sigma 70-200. Both are great lenses. If you prefer guaranteed quality go for Nikon lense. If price counts for you go for Sigma one.

Seems you are set on the 70-200. The VR-I is superb, especially on a crop body, and you save a fair bit of cash to put towards another lens. The older 18-70 dx is a very good lens and often overlooked. The gold standards for nikkor short zooms are the 24-70 and the 14-24, but thy are expensive. 17-35 2.8 is good. 28-70 2.8 is good. 16-35 f4 VR is good. 24-120 f4 VR is good. .... and there are many more. Add primes to the mix and your choices are even broader. Look at the nikon website for a comparison of all their current lenses.

Thanks :D , I'll check on that sigma lense hahaha . any lenses recommendation ( I think I wanna sell my. 18 - 200 )

You may want to keep 18-200mm for indoor. Then 70-200mm 2.8 VRII. Just a suggestion.

This is a great thread as I have considered exactly the same thing. Would love to hear your views on your decision once you have run a few rolls of pixels through it.
