Need camera info please !!

I'm looking at buying a Minolta 800si that is like new and only had 6 or 7 rolls of film through it. A friend has it and I can get the body for $275.00. I already have a 18-35mm, 28-135mm, and a 28-300mm that will work on it. does anyone know if this is a good body minolta put out and was it their pro camera at that time :?:

I remember drooling over that when it first came out. It looks like a great camera. The only real limitation is that it's not a Nikon or Canon, so the available lenses might be limited. If you already have glass for it though, I'd go for it. It looks like body-only has gone for $230-$300 on eBay, so $275 sounds reasonable if it's in top-notch shape.

No, but I saw old list price references of $700 and $1100. I don't know how accurate those are. B&H has one used for $360.
