Yup. Lenses could potentially run you more because the D5100 doesn't have a focusing motor, and... The D7000 has much better high ISO performance. If indoor sports is an area of interest, you'll be happier with the D7000.
If budget is getting strained to the breaking point, though, ya might just want to give up the sports photography interest, lol. It's an expensive pursuit. If you stick to the slower moving and/or better lit regions of the hobby, things are a lot more reasonable.
