New and looking for camera

WELL either I'm Blind or I didn't see a Thread to talk about Cameras, So I'm opting to post this in Off topic. Sorry. to the mods. Feel free to move this.

Alright.

Basically I'm looking for a good Digital camera with a price range of anything below 300$

It needs to be Durable. I'm going to be using this camera to take photos and videos of my life in the Military along with my Deployments to the sandbox. So no cheaply made cameras that break on a few drops.

The camera needs to be small enough to fit in a pocket.

It needs to have some Optical zoom at least 3x. 10x max if its still able to fit in a pocket.

must have Video function

Nothing sticking off of it that will break easy.

and it must be Digital!


Pretty specific but I know there are cameras that have all that. So I'm asking for all the camera Addicted people out there to use your ungodly knowledge and help find me those cameras.

Pros and cons are nice as well.
