New Cam?

Yeah, i was looking at some cams and found this one. Reasonable in price and has lots of good features and shoots in .raw. Just wondering if theres a "catch" to it or not. Also wondering if theres a better cam for the price.

I have that one. I was impressed with the reviews of the lens quailty and features as well as the price and I really like it so far. It seems to have everything a beginner needs, minus the price of an SLR.

It is a fairly large camera, though, so it definitely won't fit in your pocket or a regular camera bag.

I price-shopped around for a spare battery (Amazon though a 3rd party) and for a 2g memory card (from Amazon). That plus a set of starter lenses (also Amazon) and I think it was all less than $560 shipped.

You'd likely want a tripod for it as well, which I'm shopping for right now.

I should add that the LCD screen is not a large one, which is good because it doesn't sap battery power, but it bothered some reviewers, as you have probably noticed. It's not something that really bothers me, but it might be a factor for you.
