New DSLR camera

Right now I am using my Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ7 (p&s) which is a great camera, but it doesn't have some things that I am really looking for. I was looking at the new Canon XSI for my next purchase when it comes out. But by the time it does comes out, I will probley have enough money for the 40D. Anyone have some thoughts on what I should do?

hi ya I have the 40D and there's nothing in it ,the 450D will have 12 mp and all the things the 40D have ,so the only thing do you want 10mp 6.5 fps or 12 mp 3.5 fps

Well there is a lot more to a camera then megapixels and fps. You need to consider the build quality, (if you need the extra toughness of a 40d), the feel of the camera AND the fps, and lastly megapixels.
