New to Photography

I've been playing around with my Nikon D70 digital camera. I've owned it for a few years but never really played with it enough to become good with it. Now that I've found a medium that I like, in regards to taking pictures, I am constantly trying to make the images better. My medium is reef tanks which requires macro pictures, as well as dealing with difficult lighting.

This is my first photograph.

How can I make this image better? It looks like a have some vibration showing up in the image which I will try to deal with in the future.

Handheld at 1/20th of a second, shockingly (at least I was shocked when I first figured it out) is more than enough time to introduce camera shake into your photo.

However the photo looks fine to me, although It is evident this was shot through a tank. The glass kind of softens the piece up a bit. No biggie, but depending on your lens, you'll get sharper results. I do like the colors though.
