Newbie bought a Pentax K-X

I just bought my first DSLR camera. This is all new to me so it's my entry camera...

It's a Pentax K-X 12MP and came with a 18mm-55mm kit lens. I paid $299.99 + taxes brand new in box. Did I get a good deal?

Any tips on using this camera? Thanks!

First ... as many will say, read the manual.

Try out all the functions, settings, etc.
Get to know the equipment.

Shoot images of everything.
Then examine the EXIF data that the camera/image presents about the settings ... and note what settings the good images were taken with.

Post an image for C&C.

It's "commentary and critique". Hey, check out the Pentax forum for lots of specific info and support for your K-X and lenses (Hardly anyone in here uses Pentax gear or has much knowledge of it, lol).
